Adhitya Sumardie, CLS, MLS(ASCP)
Technical Supervisor
Adhitya Sumardie is the Technical Supervisor at Brio Clinical Laboratory, where he oversees day-to-day operations, quality assessment, and validation processes. With a background in both medicine and medical technology, Adhitya has over 7 years of experience supervising clinical laboratories across general, toxicology, and molecular fields. Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) and a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC), Adhitya brings hands-on leadership to Brio Clinical, ensuring that all lab services meet rigorous quality standards.
Adhitya holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Northern Philippines and a BS in Medical Technology from Adventist University of the Philippines. He has worked extensively in laboratory start-ups, providing technical supervision and consulting through his role as CEO of Biowysen Inc., a clinical laboratory consulting group.
My motto is ‘Ancora Imparo,’ which means ‘I am still learning.’ At Brio Clinical, we are always evolving, seeking better ways to serve healthcare providers and improve patient care.
Shirley Z. Tan, MD
Clinical Laboratory Director
Dr. Shirley Z. Tan serves as the Clinical Laboratory Director at Brio Clinical, bringing over 30 years of experience in clinical laboratory leadership. Board-certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology, Dr. Tan has an impressive career spanning multiple prestigious roles, including positions at USC Medical Center, AmeriPath, Quest Diagnostics, and LabCorp. Her deep expertise in laboratory management and production has been pivotal in helping Brio Clinical maintain its high standards and become a leader in the field.
Dr. Tan completed her Internship and Residency at LAC/USC Medical Center, where she later became Co-Laboratory Director. Her leadership roles have spanned several hospitals and major labs, where she consistently drove quality improvements and patient care advancements. With her combination of technical expertise and passion for quality, Dr. Tan has been instrumental in guiding Brio Clinical’s growth and success.
Integrity and a passion for quality patient care are the cornerstones of my work. I believe that excellence in laboratory testing can significantly impact patient outcomes, and I strive to ensure that our lab consistently delivers on that promise.
